Why a CD?

Our product is a quality CD-R with the images that it contains printed right on the front of the CD for easy viewing through an attractive DVD case. We not only sell the CD, we also include the legal copyright to the images themselves with the purchase. We have a copyright release printed right on the front of the CD.

Selling our images directly to our customers will effectively bypass most of the professional labs and their high prices. We believe that this is the future of professional photography. Sales of photo paper packages are slowing with many people purchasing one 8x10 of each pose. Our belief is that they are scanning these images so that they can have the freedom to do what they want with the images. There just really isn't a technology available that is customer friendly that can prevent this practice.

Copyright Law protection is on the side of the photographer (they do own the image itself pursuant to Public Law 105-298 enacted on October 27, 1998 and have the legal right to make money on every copy of that image that is produced) but they are the only ones that see it that way. Most photography companies are fully aware of the law and their rights and will quickly tell you that you are not buying the image when you purchase a photograph but rather are buying the paper that the image is on. If the customer would like to "own" the images negative or digital file there would be an additional charge.

The customer believes that they have bought the image itself and not just the paper that it is printed on. But that is just the point, the customer "wants" to own the image and this is what our company is offering to them.

With the integration of computers into the process and the large capacity of our high quality CD's we can also include several different versions of each of our images without adding to the cost to the customer. Every Full Color Portrait file is duplicated in a Black & White version, a Sepia Tone (antique) version, a Line Drawn version and an a Faded Edge version for no extra charge!

We do offer to sell regular paper photographs but only as a convenience for our customers. They DO NOT include the copyright as the digital images on our Portrait CD’s do. Our exclusive Portrait CD’s are, and will always be, our best value.
